Inspired by the English percussion group STOMP, students will use everyday household items such as buckets, pans, boxes, and even basketballs to come up with rhythms. Students will learn Basic Percussion & Traditional Theory, Playing Techniques Of Instruments, Rhythm Application & Exposure, Timbre Improvisation, Movements and Ensemble Playing. During each of the first 4 lessons, students will be assigned a different instrument to ensure they have the opportunity to experiment with the unique timbres and tones of each item. By the end of the module, students will be able to play as an ensemble and put up a stage performance.
